August Empties

Technically, I didn’t use up all these products in August, I’ve actually been saving them up for a few months.  Due to the fact that I just seem to use up products quite slowly or the mister chucks out something when its finished (he still can’t grasp the fact why I want to keep a bag of “trash” in the corner of our room).  But anyway, here’s what empties I’ve managed to save and my thoughts!  Reviews will be linked under the product name if I have reviewed the product on my blog.

Herbal Essences Smooth and Soft Shampoo:  I love Herbal Essences and will definitely be repurchasing this shampoo again.

Burts Bees Naturally Nourishing Mild and Honey Body Lotion:  This hand lotion that was included in a Glossybox replaced Soap and Glory’s Hand Food as my holy grail hand moisturizer.

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel:  I loved the scent of this shower gel, very luxurious, but because of the price I can’t see myself repurchasing.

Superdrug Cranberry and Pomegranate Shower Gel:  I will not be repurchasing this as the scent came off a little bit medicinal, it kind of reminded me of berry cough syrup 😛

Primark Gentle Face Wipes:  At £1 for two packs of these babies, you can’t go wrong, a staple of mine.

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion:  This is my absolutely favorite mascara (I purchased this while still living in the states), I still want to give the Max Factor version a go here in the UK.

ELF Eyelid Primer:  A great eyelid primer that gets the job done for a good price.

Natural Being Manuka Cleanser:  This was a lovely, gentle, creamy cleanser that was free from all nasty chemicals, would repurchase.

Superdrug Dry Shampoo in Head in the Clouds:  This is a great dry shampoo with a nice citrusy scent, will definitely repurchase.
And there you have it folks!  Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you thought!

Product Review: Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion

I received this Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion in the organic themed Glossy Box.  I’ve used Burt’s Bees products before, I am a big fan of their lip balms.  I really excited to try out this product when I first saw it included in Glossy Box.

I have to say that this thick creamy lotion is taking over my number one hand cream spot from Soap and Glory’s Hand Food.  It is strongly scented and the scent definitely lingers.  I know it is milk and honey, but a lot of my work colleagues say it smells like coconut to them and I have to agree.  I always have this lotion in my hand bag, it leaves long-lasting moisture and you only need to use a small amount.

Have you tried Burt’s Bees products before?  What’s your favorite item from their range?

April Glossybox Review: The Natural Beauty Box

I received my Glossybox while at work today and eagerly dug into its contents at my next free moment.  This month was rather unique for me because I managed not to encounter any spoilers on the interwebs prior to the delivery of my Glossybox.  And this month’s box was a good one!

This month’s box was green themed, arriving in a gorgeous biodegradable box, and filled with ethical, green cosmetics.  As soon as I opened the box and saw the theme I knew I was going to love it.  Included in this month’s box were:

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum-I can’t wait to try out this serum and there has been lots of buzz about Caudalie among beauty bloggers!

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner in Purple Minx-Least favorite product, which I will probably not use.  The pigmentation looks a bit crap as well, but I don’t think this product really brings down the box.

Monu Professional Skincare Moisture Rich Collagen Cream-A full-sized product I was delighted to receive!  I was introduced to the Monu Brand in a previous Glossybox and I absolutely loved their Revitalising Moisturizer.

Figs and Rouge Lip Balm in Cherry & Vanilla-A great little versatile balm that I’m sure will become a handbag staple.

Burts Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion-I am already a big fan of Burts Bees (I have about 3 of their lip balms floating around at any given time).  This lotion smells lovely and I can’t wait to try it out.

With the exception of the eyeliner (I don’t have much luck with actual makeup products from Glossybox), this box is perfect for me and I am really happy with it.  I really feel like I got my money’s worth this month and can’t wait to do some full reviews!

What did you think of the April Glossybox?  Or are you over beauty box subscriptions?
